A novel method is proposed for extracting the mixed-mode cohesive laws of composite materials undergoing delamination with large-scale fibre bridging. In approach, are derived from a potential function expressed in cylindrical coordinates magnitude and phase angle between normal tangential end-openings. The mapped using experimental R-curves terms J-integral describe both crack tip (high tractions, small separations) bridging region (small high separations). extracted tractions fully coupled, i.e., shear traction depend on openings. peak were found to be at mixed mode opening.
